Parking Sensors not working !

A good friend of mine purchased a low mileage FL2 earlier this year and over the last few months ive been doing all the jobs required including cam belt water pump and rear crank seal (gearbox end)Full Service etc, so just when you think its all done we realised the parking sensors aren't working Big Cry Anyway after using SDD the fault is showing as inner front sensor, swapped sensor and fault still showing as inner front sensor so i assumed it must be a wiring fault, Removed font bumper then removed the wiring harness from sensors Multimeter out and soon found no continuity on one of the 3 wires from inner sensor after a good look the wire had completely dissolved inside the plastic sheaf near the plug, I cut about 4 inches of the wire away and soldered a new piece of wire and used Heatshrink to protect it, checked loom on meter and all good so refitted loom inc all the bloody zip ties fitted bumper back on And sensors now working perfectly Total time 4 hours inc 2 tea breaks :lol

Nice to have a successful story, Well Done.

It's a useful addition to Forum -- Please edit (SOLVED) into the title. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 83k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)
