DPF full

So today after nearly 11 years and 66K miles of happy driving the ol' gal decides to throw her teddies out the window.

Quite suddenly the FL2 went into Restriced Performance mode.

Got her home OK.

My code reader only does the first 4 digits:
Initial fault codes:
P2263 Turbo/supercharge boost system performance
P006A Manifold absolute pressure - mass or volume air flow correlation
P00BD Mass or volume air flow A circuit range/performance - Air flow too high

Got underneath and checked Turbo vanes - not sticking, checked DPF pressure pipes - not blocked and intact.

Cleared the codes and then got:
Restricted Performance
P006A Manifold absolute pressure - mass or volume air flow correlation
P00BD Mass or volume air flow A circuit range/performance - Air flow too high
P2463 Diesel particulate filter restriction - Soot accumulation - Bank 1 Sad

Shortly followed by "DPF FULL, VISIT DEALER" on the dashboard

Never seen that or anything about the DPF before. Annoying really as the car only does 5K miles a year now and the vast majority are long journeys on motorways.

Nothing to lose so I took it for 25 mins up the M42 at a steady speed of 55mph (wouldnt go any faster) - as expected no improvement.

I did think about getting hold of some DPF cleaner tomorrow but I doubt it would work as the car is already saying, in effect, "go and attempt a forced regeneration at a suitable garage".

Failing that I guess its a new DPF. Looks DIYable.

We were going in the FL2 to Pembrokeship on Monday for a week - SWMBO not happy and already muttering about getting rid Big Cry

Any thoughts ? Jules

Just wondered - could this be a faulty differential pressure sensor ??

And, should it turn out to be necessary, from where would you get a new DPF ? Jules

Some Code readers can enable a DPF regen.

When I had the same problem it was the Turbo inlet rubber pipe had come loose for some reason.

Jules …….worth checking the famous turbo hose to throttle housing…since you have the same DTCs as I had when the hose split…….last October……..except for the « DPF Full «  notice…….which could be a faulty sensor…….you don’t want to replace the DPF unless it’s essential…….try DPF cleaner first…..
Can’t believe how lucky (?) I’ve been with our FL2 ……162kmls…..hardly any problems….no EGR / DPF / Haldex / Transmission /Brake/Suspension problems……..so far…..just a few batteries…! And turbo hose !

My reply above……

Further thought this morning : Ask your friend to run some live data….always useful I ‘ve found…..
See what readings for pressure difference before DPF & after DPF…….that should confirm à blockage or not
…..assuming sensor is ok……..
From what I have read you don’t want to do à regen unless it’s necessary………
Good luck……Pete FL2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto MY 2012— current

Taking it up and down the M42 was probably not a good idea as when I looked this morning the intercooler to manifold hose has blown off the intercooler and the AC compressor pulley has cut a slot in it Sad .

Would back pressure from the DPF have blown it off ?. Apart from the acute damage the hose looks in good shape.

Need to get a new hose (LR066429) before sorting the DPF issue. I hate weekends - nowhere useful is open Banging Head
And Im away for a week from Monday so it'll just have to wait. Jules

Get a better code scanner that clears codes and gives the full digit number of faults its invaluable in finding exact error.
Something like Autel AP200 it is cheap and does all of this and can start a DPF active regeneration. Once you register it to Landrover marque (first marque is free) then it does other JLR models. I use it on my daughters FL2 and my Range Rover and has done everything I needed to do so far but not tested it on DPF regeneration yet. Watch out for cheaper fakes! only buy from autelstore.

Of course Fix your hose and clear/action your codes afterwards.

@Kot : Exactly right…..I have said lots of times on this forum that thé AP200 is a great bit of kit…it does so much…….scans properly….& thé live data…as I wrote this morning…is really useful. I saw lots of recommendations on this site à couple of years ago & when I had problems I found my Lynx / Autologic that I bought in 2013 & only used for service reset…it never showed any DTCs……I bought the AP200 from AMZ £56…..found 19 DTCs…..from years ago. It helped trace my problem….MAP sensor & split T/c hose. Great bit of kit to keep in glovebox.

@Jules: perhaps T/c hose clip split allowing hose to pop off….? Is clip still there intact ?
Could be that hose came off….triggering DTCs & Reduced Performance………with no boost at all
Performance would be reduced….!!!! If the DPF was blocked first….the turbo wouldn’t work since exhaust gases couldn’t escape….lots of pressure in exhaust manifold…..nothing in the way pressure on inlet.
So it’s bumper off to replace hose…..Bobupandown I think did a post showing link to EBay to replace all hoses with silicone…good idea….. FL2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto MY 2012— current
