Can we do a sticky on hidden ways to change defaults?

Clarkson did a Harry's Garage video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LS54AJSadT4) where they mentioned how to insert and remove the seat belt 10 times in a minute to deactivate the seatbelt warning chime on a L322.

I live on a farm where I really don't need a nanny, and a 17 year old SUV is not a target on an island with only a ferry to get to the mainland.

What are the secret handshakes for the Freelander 2?

* Deactivate automatic door locking when driving off
* Deactivate automatic door locking after parked
* Deactivate seat belt warning
* Any other hidden features

I own an Autel MP8008 OBD reader, but was surprised to see it did not offer these controls whereas it does on Mercedes.

The seat belt trick works with late model Freelanders, maybe all? Ignition on and plug and unplug seat belt something like 9 times, removes the annoying 'bongs'. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I used JLR SDD to remove those things, except auto locking after getting out, as that wasn't active on mine. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

I see a great deal of information on the JLR SDD system, beginning with saying I should dig out an old PC running an old OS. With so much information, it's hard to learn what is current.

What is the latest recommendations both to have the right hardware and software? My everyday laptop is a Microsoft Surface. I may have older devices if I dig around.

* Hardware recommendation
* Dongle/OBD reader recommendation
* SDD software version and where to find it
* Link for instructions to make it all work

I am presuming I cannot interface it to my Autel MP808 which would be annoying given its cost.

Thanks for your advice
