MAF

Pointing my finger of blame at the maf. With engine running unplugging it does sod all. I do get hesitation if driving with it connected. Tried to measure voltages on it, not the easiest, well I found impossible.
Can I be fairly certain is faulty due to the unplugging scenario?

New Posts : MAF afternoon or what ?

Going back to basics : you say you have hestitation when MAF connected…..what DTCs are logged….?
I had lots of experience with this fault last year…..Home/Technical first subject……I did scan with AP200…gave DTCs concerning airflow…..well documented….changed MAF & MAP because they are easy to change & not too expensive. Unfortunately thé OE Hitachi new unit was faulty…messed-up engine management but after a bit of head-scratching….checking with live-data & looking on this forum, finding good advice the problem has been rectified…….it would seem……Bizzare as it seems……….read latest post….
So, my advice : look at fault codes…..change things « on the off-chance » only if it’s easy & not expensive.
Otherwise try & think it through…..check DTCs, & live-data…..
Good luck. FL2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto MY 2012— current

No codes load on hesitation. What I also get is black smoke so maf losing the plot there and overfuelling. With maf disconncted get air flow temp and maf error P-0113 and P- 0100 which are to be expected with maf disconnected. No black smoke and it runs fine.
Have found a new unused genuine LR maf made by Hella secondhand so might give it a try. Original Is a Ford Q2MYB

Worth a try….since it’s easy to change…..& presumably not a lot of money…..
Take it from there……!
Hope it’s better than the one I bought….OE Hitachi new unit…..thankfully Rimmer Bros gave me a full refund inc. postage.

Have run the live data using an AP200. No idea how to get them onto a pc to show here but all I can say some values do change.

900 rpm (idle) and 1500rpm

Mass air flow frequency 4810.8 and 4810.8

Intake air temperature sensor voltage 3.02 and 3.02

Mass airflow 15 and 23

As the latter parameter alters it would suggest to me that the maf is good, maybe. I can understand the air temp sensor voltage staying same but I would have thought the air flow frequency might vary but then again who knows. It has been reported that one can do a re calibration with the AP200 is this true ?
if so how?

I had this screen shot (….unfortunately with engine off….I have deleted the other s/snots…) just to show the faulty /incorrect air intake temperature from the new unit……
Normally thé mass air flow is in g/sec……grammes of air /second….on the AP200….lots of detail on my posts at the time…….air flow frequency & voltage doesn’t correspond with my readings, so I don’t know about your readings…………..
I find it’s a problem sometimes, I have the info on previous posts but can’t easily retrieve them, short of copying them all …..! Suggest you fit this other MAF & see how you go, as far as I know thé MAF does not need recalibration….. FL2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto MY 2012— current

Some say the car learns other say needs to be recalibrated. I will fit the replacement cannot make it any worse, hopefully.

A new MAF requires the ECM to be taught its parameters using SDD or other diagnostic equipment. The ECM isn't self learning. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

First off what does SDD stand for. Is a specialised garage job?
