Romania 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Narvik Black
Electronic parking brake stuck (EPB module)

Hello everyone.
I have a problem with my Freelander 2 2013 TD4. My electronic parking brake stuck on closed position at 900km from home Cool . I have managed to unlock the motors by taking out the back wheels, taking out the epb motors plugs and inverting polarity until the wheel started spinning again. I left the plugs unplugged because i was afraid not to get stuck again and I went home with an annoying beep in my head. Rolling Eyes
After that, the next day i went to a scrapyard and bought another epb module, as i suspected that the module was the problem. I mounted the new module and everything was perfect until… i went to holiday at 1300km from home and it stuck again (I have tested the module for two weeks and it worked perfectly everytime). What i noticed is that the brake stuck on closed position when i manually used the button, first and second time.
Now, all i can think of is the button being the problem (saw that it is a little bit sticky after a visual inspection). I started to disassemble the central console to get out the button and maybe change it but now i am stuck because i can’t get it off. I unscrewed 8 screws, the plastic above the central console is loose but i can’t take it off to dismount the button.
Do you maybe have an idea about this? It is possible to take it off? Has anyone encountered this problem before? I will attach some photos. Thank you very much!

I did have a similar problem recently when my EPB stuck after coffee was spilled into the switch. I got it by putting the car into reverse and giving it some throttle. FL2 SD4 XS 2013 Orkney Grey

You can completely remove the centre console in a few minutes.

The gear selector surround pulls upwards.
The main centre console is held down with 8 screws.

The diagrams dont show the EPB switch because they only go up to 2012 models Jules
