Servicing Spreadsheet For The Freelander 2 | |
About 10 months ago I asked on this forum for help to create some form of servicing spreadsheet to help people track when different parts of their Freelander 2 are due for some maintenance. I have to give Grue a huge thanks as he has very much done a lot of the heavy lifting when it come to making this spreadsheet .
For those of you that don't know, I'm trying to spread as much correct info about the Freelander 2 and just trying to help new people to the Freelander 2 world understand the various bits and pieces. Although there is LOTS of information our there about our cars, sometimes it can be really hard to wade through it all to find that 1 nugget of correct information that someone might be looking for. Hopefully this spreadsheet will help people realise just how many bits there are to look after on a Freelander 2 and when they need to be looked after.
If you would like a copy of the spreadsheet for your own use, here's a video on how to get it and a brief look at how the spreadsheet works:
If you don't want to watch the video, follow these steps:
1. Once you've clicked on a link and opened one of the spreadsheets, click on "File" in the top left.
2. Click on "Make A Copy" in the drop down menu.
3. Leave the name as it is or change it, that's up to you, but click "Make a copy" in the box that appears.
4. You will then have your own personal copy that you can edit to your heart's content 😀.
To edit the spreadsheet:
1. Enter your current mileage into the yellow "Current ODO Reading" box.
2. Fill out each item (Date and Miles/KM) in the "Last Done" Column.
- Optional -
3. Adjust the "Soon Days:" and "Soon KM:" figures in the yellow boxes to whatever you like. They are currently set to 180 days (6 months) and 5,000 miles / 8,000 KM. These figures determine when the "Soon?" column flags up. As soon as the "Current ODO Reading" gets within 5,000 miles / 8,000 KM or its within 6 months, you will see "YES" displayed in the soon column.
4. Adjust the figures in the "Service Schedule" to whatever suits you. Maybe you do oil services every 2 years. In that case, change the months from 12 to 24.

If you have any issues, improvement suggestions or anything else, feel free to leave a comment in this thread . I've also tried to include as many useful LR part numbers as I could possibly find.
Could I ask a favour, if you think this spreadsheet could be useful to someone, share it. Here's the link you can copy and paste to share this post:

If you have found this spreadsheet of any use, it would be really appreciated if you could leave a thanks in this thread or on the video as for a numpty like me, this has been quite a project to get my head around .
Some of the comments that have been left so far...
"Passed my test last week and FL2 is my first car.. this is mega helpful! Thank you!"
"I bought a second hand Freelander 2 XS (2011) in Leeds in 2017. I moved to Southern Spain in 2018 and brought the old girl with me.
She loves the dry hot days out here and currently has 170,000 miles on the clock. I regularly service the car but noticed a few things on your spreadsheet that I’ve not even thought about." https://www.youtube.com/@scottandalana4x4
