The latest XC60 has nothing in common with the FL2 (a 20 year old design) Jules |

Yes I find the FL2 boot space a bit small some times but I too was spoiled - Discovery 2 and Octavia estate; both a tardis on wheels Jules |

When the kids are little a big estate was needed for all their stuff. When they are older you would think that a large boot is not needed, but we are still needed for moving stuff. Just different stuff. |

Anything after a Discovery 2 seems to have a small boot! The amount of wine it could smuggle import into the UK was fantastic. The Freelander does seem small by comparison but it's perfectly adequate 99% of the time. Anything that won't go in, it has roof rails or I'll take the trailer. The Volvo XC60 range of power units and specs contains some interesting features and would be/ will be high on my list of FL2 replacements.

I had an ex-police one with the basic trim and T6 chipped 305bhp engine, no rev limiter and autobox with winter lock-up gearbox. Quite fast, four wheel drive and plenty of space inside. One could get a full size door behind the front seat, and lots of room, very comfortable driving position, geared for 170mph. Still could not get a two-seater settee in one though, I could in a Disco 2 TD5, not in a FL2. Win some, lose some. Watch out Ian for Volvo Stealer prices, worst of the lot, many people claim. |

Yes it's funny how your priorities change as the years go by. We just about manage to get 2 Mobility Scooters and a Cool Box in and secured.
