United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Fuji White
Auto Gearbox Explanation

This Video explains why the auto gearbox needs time to do its job engaging gears smoothly and why sometimes it needs to re-learn its control procedure.

Also be aware that the overall pressure of the transmission fluid is controlled (via a PWM valve) by the TCM. (Transmission Control Module), therefore DO NOT apply 12v to check if working, as you will destroy solenoid.

Good Article describes working of the gearshift timings, any mis-timings will result in either hard shifts, or flaring between shifts (feels like an old fashioned slipping clutch)

This Video gives food for thought on how all these Control Modules talk to one and other and how faults in other systems can effect the transmission (or vice versa).
