Not today but last weekend the car passed the 60,000 Km mark on our way to the Baltic coast. Apart from a replacement haldex pump and a door actuator the car has been faultless. The only additional costs have been routine servicing, insurance and fuel. It still drives and looks like new and my wife loves it and doesn't want to change it. I do, just for a change, but it's difficult to find a valid excuse.

I have given a number of our neighbours a lift over the years, & they don't have cheap cars. They all comment on how comfortable & quite the Freelander is.

I have done acoustic insulation, but I have never told them.

It's also much nicer than my sister's Evoque, & I have never told her that have insulated the car.

When I am forced to replace the car, acoustic insulation will be the first thing I do. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Discovered my headlight bulb on the passenger side is out so as a one armed man this should be a challenge

H7 bulbs on order, depending whether Bob can get away out taking the whole headlight unit as seen in so many videos my task will be big or small.

Went for a little drive out in the sunny weather upon the return my wife’s exclamation that the lcd display says “transmission fault “ no change in driving or unusual noises. We carried on and returned home

I’m sorry to say I sold it as part of a part exchange deal with our Kia ceed to get a new Sportage under warranty for seven years and a ful service plan.
The freelander was too tired and spent too much time in the garage of late.
I’m finished with Land Rover cars now too much grief for me and my wife

I’m now looking to clear out my paint and service spares to any interested parties.
Zermat silver and an oil change plus air filter all Mann filters bought but never needed.

Replaced my cracked high level brake light with a LED one from the bay of E. Probably not as good as an OEM but £70 cheaper.

Because the EGR-Valve came back to life, I removed the blanking plate, what was in for 2000km. No difference in performance blanked/unblanked.

Blanking plate is made of 0,75mm stainless. No signs of wear. Very little soot on it. Some tiny drops of condensate. All good.

Replaced the tailgate release button/camera loom... found only seven bolts holding the handle on instead of the eight that should have been there???

What a pain trying to find similar locally - no success and online, one bolt (Part No. BYP500220) is under 50p with postage of £4 or somesuch but timescale looks uncertain. I'll try our local main dealer parts counter next week but in the meantime, all cleaned up, refitted (with seven bolts) and working properly.

Handle has been off.

Tailgate was damaged in a Whitby car park a couple or three years back and repaired at a local body shop so I'd guess that as being when the bolt was 'lost'.

It is but a few minutes work to take the door liner off and bung a boot in once I get one.

I just bought mine today.

There are some issues with the car, but the previuos owner is willing to chip in for the costs.
-I got the "Limp mode" and P2263 code, probably the Turbo actuator issue (based on the info I have read here) I have checked the intake pipe and it is not broken.

I have added steering fluid as it was under the minimum level. I will change the whole fluid soon, but as an SOS step I filled it up now.

- ordered a new MAF sensor, will replace on Monday

Replaced intercooler to throttle body hoses with silicone following second split in the lower one in less than 2 years hopefully won't have to do that again any time soon. But when undertray came off it is wet with coolant under the turbo area and coolant level has dropped slightly in tank. Will have to investigate further but think egr cooler is in that area.
