Fuel filter query

2010 HSE Auto
Just purchased fuel and oil filter from Taggarts Glasgow.
Been a lot of posts about fuel filters on here.
Looking at the one I have ,yes,there is a socket for the electrical connection but no connection in the hole. Just plain plastic. Does anyone know if my model should have the electric connection?
Always fit genuine filters. Give them to my garage for the service so never checked before.

Your MY will not have a connector/sensor on the bottom of the fuel filter. However as you say it will have what appears to be a connector but it's blank

Expensive £47 +vat,
Has to be correct

The fuel filter OEM manufacturer is Purflux (FCS604) and they are expensive - around twice the price of look-alike filters ie £45 ish Jules

What make is it?
£47+ is extremely expensive for a no name aftermarket part. It it's an Purflux part it's about right.

Coopers do a Purflux (OE) filter for about £25. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Gone.

Yes, expensive, but no fuel problems. Only done 8k since last change.
Old habit, yearly oil and fuel filter change

Glad to see you using genuine filters Thumbs Up
I do use them and truly believe they make a difference to the running of the the vehicle and would not personally use non genuine. Costs me around £100 per year for filters and buy correct oil and do it myself.
But many opinions about this which shows how emotive the opinions are Shocked

Yes, some cheap fuel filters lack the internal parts that the OEMs one have.
I buy OEM filters - you can make savings elsewhere. Jules
