This has been steadily growing inside the rear offside door on the wheel arch and Alana and I had been turning a blind eye to it. This year we have been doing less off-roading and more taking care of the car with the hope we can then tip the scales back the other way next year and do some more off-roading and a little less maintenance.

I've read on this forum about replacement panels and the likes but never really understood how they worked. So we dropped the car off with Warren and Chell at MuddyMods for Warren to work his magic with cutting devices and a welder. In my non-mechanic's eye, I think he's done an absolute cracking job and Alana and I are very happy that we are now not greeted with the rust patch every time we open that door .

Warren was nice enough to take a few pictures and a couple of short videos so that I could put together a little video.

I wonder why that area is prone to the dreaded tin worm.
They all seem to go there no matter what you do to prevent it.  Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.

I think it’s because the rear doors don’t get opened to often and the rubber trim holds water there.
