Australia 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Alaska White
brake pad size

Was going to replace rear brake pads today but they are the wrong size, too small ( 95mm x 44mm).
Can someone measure there (spare) pads so I can get the right size please.
That will save my poor back from taking the wheel off and measuring roughly from the outside of the caliper without taking it apart again.
TIA

Regards
littlecub

Seeing as the rears wear out heap faster than the front (still got plenty of meat left on front pads).
Has anyone fitted Brembo P24078N NAO Ceramic pads to there Fl2?
Probably have to get new rotors as well but there still within limits.

I have found that the brake discs do not last that long even with normal pads, so I doubt if ceramic pads are the answer.

I think that the FL2's appetite for rear brakes are the result of the various automatic stability systems working by applying the rear brakes individually when the car encounters enthusiastic driving.

I first noticed it not long after my first SD4 seemed to 'float', and widen its line, as I negotiated a large roundabout between to motorways.

I now adopt a slow in, fast out method of cornering, thus not attempting to carry too much speed through the bends. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

I am 70 what I do is lay a piece of 4x2 or similar then roll the wheel up on to this if you have it jacked up at the right height you can turn the hub untill the bolt holes line up, lot easier than lifting with a tyre lever.
Trying to lift Defender wheels up is another story! 2013 FL2 XS.

As I no longer can straight lift much weight, I do use pieces of timber to align (lift) items.

A see-saw arrangement and wedges works wonders, although I must admit that I use the local tyre garage to swop tyres around every couple of years at less than £5 a corner. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

I had the wheels off the DS MHEV at the weekend to check brake wear and found that at 29k miles there is still 6mm of pad on the rears and 8mm on the front with no discernible lip on the discs. Never any brake dust to clean off the wheels either. I put this down the the regenerative braking on the mild hybrid. Only problem is that I suspect that at this rate the discs will probably corrode before they wear out as they don't look as shiny as when I had the FL2. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
