Cannot select 1st 2nd or reverse will not engage linkages all working but one of the selectors on the gearbox is loose and doesn't lock into position when moved .

Sounds like an internal gearbox issue.
It's probably best to simply replace it with a second hand one. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

Been informed its a pin/rivet thats snapped on one of the gear selector swivel arms located on the gearbox
a common problem with age
The arm moves but the shaft doesn't and a few spots of weld is the cure.
Got to remove the air intake box to gain access . will try today to repair

Checked this morning found one of my selector rods was turning but the shaft wasn't. Less than 1 hours work to sort with a few spots of weld to fix the lever arm to the shaft . Tested and all good
