Whining and ticking after shutdown

Hi. My FL2 2014 plate emits a high pitch whine and ticking noise when engine is shut down. Can last for half an hour.

The ticking is a solenoid type noise with a regular pattern.

I disconnected the throttle body electrical connector but the noise remains. I have a recording of the noise but can’t upload it for some reason ☹️

Whining with the occasional click is the throttle body closing and opening, which it can do for some time.
If you've disconnected the TB, then you'll need to stick your hear in the engine bay to identify the source of the noise. There's nothing else that should really make a noise if it's not the TB. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

Hi. Completely disconnected TB and ticking is coming from the rear of the engine - rear top right as looking in the bay.

EGR valve maybe ???

Mine made a ticking sound after I replaced it and I hadnt done the air path calibration. But also got engine warning after a few miles.
Once the calibration done, cost £30 - no ticking and no MIL light. Jules

Is it possible to upload a video? Noise coming from top rear. Is that the EGR valve?
