Are door speakers from all years / stereo systems the same?

I wonder if anyone knows if all door speakers are the same part for all years and audio types.

I need to replace the drivers door speaker (meridian 380w). I’ve read that Alpine and Meridian amplifiers are the same (on the 380w system) and wonder therefore if the speakers are too? Thanks Mark. [/list]

No. Earlier cars have Alpine hi-fi.

This thread is for an upgrade for the earlier hi-fi, should be some info in there to help.

Otherwise a search on Alpine hi-fi etc should bring up enough information. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Your vehicle avatar states: '2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Baltic Blue'

That's why I posted a link to the earlier system. There is a great thread about a dozen pages long on the latter system upgrading to premium system. A lot of "side" information. It is worth spending the time going through that thread page by page & taking notes.

But to reduce confusion for answers on year of one's car, it is better that the vehicle avatar accurately represents the actual car one has. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I believe all midline and highline door speakers are the same 40 Watt rated drivers, the lowline speakers are cheaper 20 Watt drivers though.

I've just ordered a couple of pairs of Jaguar XF Bowers & Wilkins kevlar cone speakers for mine, just as an experiment really. I'm suspecting there's probably very little difference in the sound quality between my midline spreakers and the B&W speakers, but it would be nice to be proven wrong.
I've also got the Logic 7 amplifier, which I plan to install one day, along with the 5 extra speakers.

The Freelander audio system is pretty good, but not a patch on the wife's Audi A5 with the Bang & Olufsen audio system. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.
Hyundai Ionic 5 Ultimate on order.
Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE.

I've just had these delivered.

I'm hoping they'll sound better than the standard midline/ highline speakers.
