A forum is only as good as its members and this forum is unique as far as I can see. It's more like a classic car group where people actually do stuff. Having recently moved to a Disco Sport I have found that either the cars don't go wrong (?) or that the owners just don't roll their sleeves up and get stuck in. For example one comment recently "Hi All, 102kkms driven so far, still haven't received any front brake pads wear warning!? Any concerns or are the pads still good?!" people on freel2.com would have had a wheel off and had a look by now. Good luck with the BMW forum search. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

Maybe BMW drivers are not into diy mechanics in sufficient numbers

I agree that as the FL2 ages gracefully, the Forum is evolving into a classic 'Classic Car Forum, but also I think that it has always had people who wanted to support the unique Land Rover car ownership experience.
Of course many had years of keeping Defenders and Discoveries going! FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 76k+ miles) (MY2015)

My interest in forums and cars in general is about car mechanics, problems, fixes, what can I DIY that won't cost me £££ at dealers.
The D2BC forum for the Discovery 2 was very similar to on here but it dwindled as the cars aged and many have been scrapped. Another great forum, as Arctic on here will confirm is the Rover 75/ZT forum, a friendly hands on bunch who love their cars. I've been a member for years although never even owned one, just always loved the style and shape of what was the last proper Rover.
Other forums I've looked at seem to be about new cars, ordering, options and delivery dates or ICE installs, suspension swaps and coding, each to their own but doesn't do it for me. I also laugh at some of the forums where members seem to regularly fall out with each other over differences of opinion which can become quite heated, Vauxhall Corsa crowd was the worst for that 🤣
A fantastic forum I do belong to is the Mig Welding Forum. All sorts of topics of interest to anyone with a DIY or engineering interest (not just welding!) You think of a topic, someone on there will be into it and able to offer advice and assistance. A very friendly group as well. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Your daughter can try Bimmerforums UK. I've not been on there for some time but for UK owners it's better than Bimmerpost.

BMW Forums are very much dominated by US owners and US news so it will be difficult to find anything matching Freel2. driving on the right side
