Fl2 2007 propshaft..do i need it?

ok ,so my dads 2007 fl2 has a noisy prop and he cant afford to sort it just now ,my question is can he run the car without it on, did it once on my fl1 and just lost 4wd
had onlt front wheel drive

United States 2008 LR2 i6 S Auto Tambora Flame

You can remove it and it won't hurt anything, other than 4WD and probably the traction control stuff. You'll need to disconnect the haldex power as well. You'll get a bunch of warning lights, but it will still work in front wheel drive.

It'll spin the front wheels a lot more easily upon setting off (its one of the tests for loss of 4WD on the FL2). Jules

If you simply remove the propshaft, then the car won't know about it and everything included the traction control will still work. It will however spin the front wheels very easily, so throttle needs using with care.
If you pull the fuse (FB6), then there will be a warning on starting, where DSC and TC will be disabled. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.
