DIY thermostat replacement SD4

I'm struggling to find a thread on this forum that describes how to replace the thermostat oneself.. - or is this rather a job for a professional?

Depends on your ability on the tools. It's an easy job. There are You Tube movies. Should you decide to do it I am going to suggest you put a thin smear of silicone sealant on the gasket.

The hardest part is getting the thermostat off the rear coolant rail, as the O ring sticks tight to the thermostat socket.
You need a suitable E Torx to remove the thermostat studs, as the coolant rail prevents it from pulling away from the head enough to clear them, hence the need to remove them. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
