We carry some gorilla tape and some fuses and a few cable ties. The rest we rely on recovery firm as I would not know what to do with it anyway.

Prevention is better than cure, check everything that is a common issue before you go, other than that as previously mentioned but oil, coolant, PAS fluid, and crank sensor?

From my experience the the FL2 is generally reliable.

So as long as you have serviced it on time, not neglected to check under the bonnet every so often, I would top up your fluids, and get on your way and enjoy yourself.

The weakest part of the FL2 seems to be the 12v Battery, so I would buy a Lithium Jump Starter so I can always get going if I have left it parked for too long, or over drained the battery with picnic/camping appliances.

Intercooler hose let go on mine last year while towing the caravan. Nothing a little DIY in a supermarket carpark and later at the caravan site couldn't fix!

Have now bought these, must get round to fitting them before any more caravan capers next month.

Ebay:

Unfortunately these are only the intake side the pipes from the turbo to the intercooler don't seem to be available in silicone, but it's these ones that have the reputation for splitting. Normally the small upper one which is easy to change, naturally mine was the lower one which you have to take the bumper off to access. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Get an i6, as those are ULEZ compliant, which I found out after buying one. Thumbs Up 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.
