Yes I know about the surround- unforrtunately I need to remove all the flaky lacquer in and around the honey comb part of the grill. Jules

If I purchase a black grill on Amazon, how will the Autobody guys fit it to my car? I thought the grill is connected to the bumper. Or is that incorrect? I have a 2013 lr2 and would like to update the look from the silver grill to a black look.

The grill is indeed part of the front bumper assembly, not seen a grill available separately.
Just have the existing grill repainted. Easy enough to diy, or a paint shop could do this for you. I did mine last year, kept it grey and silver.

I resprayed mine last year. I didn't bother rubbing it down. Gave it a good clean with paint thinner then used high build primer, followed by a couple of coats of, BMW Artic silver then finished with 4 coats of clear lacker. All with rattle cans.

I have been rebuilding my freelander that I bought from a salvage auction.
My grill was beyond repair and I tried to paint a 2nd hand one I had, but in the end I bought a new grill from Aliexpress for £160.
Very pleased at how it turned out.

That looks good on black.
My car is Orkney Grey so I decided to do the honeycomb grill in black but leave the surround in silver. When I bought the car the silver surround had deteriorated badly which is common problem so the LR dealer agreed to repaint the silver surround as part of the deal. I decided to go gloss black on the honeycomb as I think it makes the car look more modern. Shades of 2015/2016 Discovery 4 and as per Freelander Dynamic. I also repainted the side vents body colour Orkney Grey. FL2 SD4 XS 2013 Orkney Grey
