Juddering during tight cornering and power loss during hill

2007 Freelander 2

I'm experiencing a couple of issues with my 2007 Land Rover Freelander 2, and I'm hoping someone here can help me diagnose the problems before I take it to a mechanic.

Issue 1: Juddering during tight cornering
When I'm driving at low speeds and take tight corners, I can feel a strong juddering coming from the wheels. I've seen some similar posts on this forrum about the Haldex and wonder if it is also related to the next issue.

Issue 2: Power loss during hill climb
When I'm climbing a hill at around 50 mph and the automatic gearbox shifts to the next gear, the car starts rumbling, and I experience a loss of power. I can continue driving at low speeds, but when I try to accelerate, the power cuts out completely. The issue seems to resolve itself when I stop and restart the car. The very entertaining thing about this issue is that it happens on only one specific hill which I guess just has the perfect combination of incline and speed limit changing from 30-50 😅

If anyone has encountered similar issues or has any ideas about what might be causing these problems, I'd be grateful for your advice. Thanks in advance for your help!

1 Almost certain Haldex

Search Haldex on Forum

2 Limp Home Mode or Transmission

Best talk to Bell Engineering for both problems

As above,

1. Is certainly haldex related. Mine was like that due to low oil level. New filter and fresh oil sorted it. Remove haldex fuse to test.

2. Has the car had a fuel filter changed recently? What brand of filter used? Non OE filters can give a variety of engine irregularities Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
