Not a very nice day for me. Had to have my old black lab put down so a trip to the vets then drive across the field to bury him in the pheasant pen where all my other gundogs are buried. The house seems there's somthing missing . I like to think we both had good days out together so RIP 'Drake' enjoy that big pheasant shoot in the sky.

Not a good day at all , but they do know when it’s time . My last Lab , Rigby made that same awful trip in the back of my Fl2 a few years back and went to join his brother form the same litter , Boss . It’s not a nice thing but at least he went with you by his side , we owe them that . You have picked a fitting resting place for him . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Swapped out my AGM H7 for another, will return the used one for some refund in a day or two...

Update! Thumbs Up returned old 60 mth replacement warranted battery today and the replacement cost me NADA after the refund!
I was pretty happy with that! Costco AGM H7 60 month warranty NOW prorated but the one I returned was FULL replacement at the time. It only survived 3 years...RIP.

Saturday was annual service time.

Once again I curse the guys at Ford/PSA who chose to put the oil filter where it is.... 3/8" long handle wobble-head wrench and a 27mm socket were my friends.

I also call into question the parentage of the team responsible for the cabin pollen filter. The clips are a nice idea, better than the screws on the FL1, but that top one requires an extra joint in my arm that I just don't possess.

The less said about the fuel filter, the better. Current driveway contents:
2021 V60 Cross Country B5
2009 FL2 dog bus and shooting wagon

On Order: 2023 Fisker Ocean Ultra - deposit paid.

Amen brother. Questionable parentage.

On a bright note it took me less than ten minutes to fit a new fan control module today. Radiator fan now stops when the car is off. Luxury. MY11 SD4 SE Auto

You’ll enjoy the factory tour . The company I worked for had many divisions and I was lucky enough to spend some time with the automotive supply guys . I went round Gaydon when it was Ford Premier Automotive and covered. Disco/ XJ / Aston . It was great then so the technology in the factory at Solihull now must be amazing ! 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Decided today to move on from Freelander ownership ahead of Censored Khans impending and surely inevitable ULEZ expansion. Can’t see his decision being reversed despite the weight of public opposition (and the absence of any Government intervention) so decided to jump now rather than wait to be pushed in August; figured that by then there’d be a mad rush for compliant cars, value of ours will have dropped . . . .
Taken a hit no doubt on the p/ex value but couldn’t be arsed to go down the private sale route, arranging viewings, hoping payment would go through etc.
Up and running for probably 7-10 days in which time I can get shot of 3/4 tank of diesel

Shortlisted Discovery Sport and Skoda Kodiaq, just need to get out and have a look.

Sid what did you decide and when do we get a picture.
Looking forward to your 'new owner' impressions.

Decided on the Skoda Karoq 1.5 TSI Sportline DSG petrol - with a name that long you understand why there’s no badging. Had looked at the Kodiaq but would never use the seven seat facility and apart from that has no sunroof.
Karoq is well appointed, lot of boot space, cheaper road tax and better mpg. All in all believe it’ll be a sound replacement. Will be sad to see the Freelander go, especially in p/ex but probably easier taking the hit than trying to sell privately. Shame there was no one on here interested.
Should be picking the Skoda up 7-10 days when the Freelander will finally go

Gave the Haldex a service today. Filters and oil looked OK - much better than the 1st time I did it. Looks like the input oil seal is failing - got a sheen of oil on the front of the unit and a light spray round the tunnel. Also noted the RH rear diff drive shaft seal is weeping, no drips yet but the DS and diff case are covered.
