It is more the diagram sheet for your specific tow bar electrics set you need. There were several sets over the production life of the FL2. Do you have your specific part number

Edited to add: this may help.

The car is not the issue... there were several LR branded OEM tow bar electrics kits (each with a different part number) sold by Land Rover plus any number sold by third party suppliers like P F Jones.

Some will fit your 57 HSE, some will not fit. I imagine some will have different fuse and relay configs. Do you know which kit you have?

The link above will give you the general gist of the thing including correct cable routing.

Does this help? It’s the installation in a 2008 FL2. Basically, you just plug the grey connector into the matching socket already in the loom and connect the earth. You also need a couple of additional fuses. These instructions from P F Jones should be helpful - https://www.pfjones.co.uk/pfjoneswiringkit..._11-06.pdf

You should find that the trailer warning light in the instrument panel comes on with the indicators without requiring the trailer module to be added via software. The rear parking sensors, however, will still continue to beep unless the trailer module is added.

Yes, I think that’s right - they are disabled without adding the trailer module via software. My recollection is that it’s only the parking sensors that need switched off.

However, it may depend on what trailer cable harness you use. The P F Jones one behaves as I have described, and presumably the LR one would be the same. However I recall that when looking at cable harness options there were others that seemed to offer less functionality unless the software was updated.

This wiring diagram, as seen from the rear of the socket, might help.

Whites are normally earth connections. As mentioned PF jones are pretty good and should be able to supply the correct dedicated kit, although If you fit a dedicated kit, it may also need to enabled in the ccf file. When I bought mine, the original bodgers had spliced the wiring straight into the rear lights with scotch locks....unsurprisingly it didn't work correctly. In the end I fitted new 12n 12s sockets with a bypass relay and smart relay for fridge control, picking up the main supply from the rear fuse box. Has worked fine since, although I have recently updated to a 13pin arrangement to match new caravan and alko atc system.
