Hi New to the Freelander 2 and this forum and having bought a Freelander 2 today got it home and checked the fluids on,y to find when I topped the washer bottle up fluid was just pouring out from somewhere.

Leaking washer bottles are not common. Could something just be disconnected ? Jules |

Just discovered a few days ago that some of the accordion section of my washer filler has split. Near the top though, so not a problem at this stage.

You can't top the washer bottle right up to the cap. There's an overflow/ breather pipe at the bottom of the filler neck. This is there to ensure that sufficient air can enter the bottle to prevent headlamp washer motor causing a vacuum inside the bottle. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. I know mine has a split, most likely near the base of the neck, I just do partial fills (guestimates). |

The end of the breather is only slightly below the height of the filler cap. I used to fill with water to the top of the neck, then top off with glass cleaner meant I wasn’t guessing how much cleaner I was adding.

Ha found the fault, there was a big hole in the side of it with 2inches of tree branch poking out.
