Spec Levels on GS?

I’ve put a deposit on a 2007 GS that I’m going to collect in a week or so’s time. Is the an online resource that tells me what would have come as standard on a GS spec of that era?

Thanks
Col

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

There are some sources on line, although I didn't bother with them as they don't include options which might ot might not have been fitted. I simply discounted the GS altogether, as it didn't have what Iwanted or needed, so only looked at SE and HSE examples.

I definitely wouldn't be putting a deposit on a vehicle that I'd not seen. These are complicated vehicles which can empty a wallet quickly if something needs doing. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

I’m familiar with the brand! Deposit is £200 and refundable so it’s not much of a gamble.

Thanks

I had a nearly new 2007 S which was the basic model and came with very little! The standard GS from that era had nicer alloys, front fog lights, better seats and terrain response. Some owners upgraded the spec so you may have some additional extras. They drive beautifully so I am sure you will be pleased with it👍

If anyone is searching for a good well equipped FL2, Nodge makes a good point by pointing out that JLR, like most 'luxury' brands, sell an awful lot of cars that are upgraded from their original spec with lots of options.
My original FL2 XS is an example, externally it looked like my Metro (Wheels, Spoiler, Glass) and internally it Memory seats, mirrors, Heated screen, seats, etc. (and the best bit a SD4 engine)

Note that these extras are not always listed by the dealer, so a good study of any pictures is advisable. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Good point made by Ian about upgrades not being mentioned by a dealer! The opposite can also happen when a generic description is used which lists things that the car on offer doesn`t have! Worthwhile checking with a dealer on spec before travelling any distance to view a potential purchase! Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Zermatt Silver

I had a 2009 bog standard GS Auto . The spec was cloth seats , manual adjustment ( chosen by my late wife , she hated leather seats ) , plastic steering wheel . 17” alloy wheels,( allowed for some decent tyre choices ) Front fogs , rear parking , am/fm radio with a single slot CD .no privacy black back glass . The GS came with the terrain response system , Hill Descent , and cruise control which would also vary the hill descent speed , but lacked any bells and whistles to stop you cruising into the back of a truck at 70mph if you were day dreaming ! As standard it came with a space saver spare . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . Best Car I ever owned !

Hi,

as already said LR changes standard spec and many have options, mentioned wrongly or omitted by sellers,
I would not rule out any spec but decide what I wanted and ask the seller and check the pictures to see if it had what I wanted,

our GS (was newer) was just what we wanted with heated leather seats, front armrest, heated Front screen, 17" wheels, full size spare and No (out of date) satnav and it served us very well.

Thumbs Up .
my first ever FL2 and I did keep it longer than most other cars!
But its now gone way up Norf

My 2007 GS spec was as MartynB’s. Perfectly adequate other than needing to use a Bluetooth dongle for a mobile phone.

Make sure it has at least the mid range hi-fi otherwise you are stuffed on upgrades.
