Loose Drivers Seat Update

Contrary to my local dealership telling me that my drivers seat that moves a couple of mm when I brake is a 'special seat' I spoke with another 'helpful' dealer who advises me that this is a 'known problem' and that it relates to a framework (presumably what the seat sits on?). At the moment there is no fix for it as the matter is in the hands of the design department who are rushing to sort out a new part that will prevent the problem. I have been put on the 'hit list' and will be recalled as soon as the new part is available. The dealer also told me that some people have had new seats fitted as a cure but within a couple of months the problem returns!

If you think your seat is moving speak to your local dealer! Thumbs Up

UPDATE - My dealer asked me to call in just before christmas as they had an 'expert' coming in specially to look at another FL2. Apparently my chassis number means I shouldnt be suffering from the loose seat problem . After 30 minutes at the dealer I was told that I need a complete new seat!! Shocked However because Alpacha has been replaced by Almond it has got to be specially made as there are no longer any 'off the shelf' (I find that hard to believe!) With the extended Christmas shutdown my new seat is going to be delayed until the end of January at the earliest! Big Cry Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

Strange comments on the seat been specially made due to it been alpacha.

I had my drivers seat cover replaced in Alpacha within 2 days, so alpacha must be still on the shelves.

I presume from what you say they don't just pull a blank seat of the shelf and place the corrisponding cover on it, which to me would be a logical way to do it Rolling Eyes Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Australian 09MY models have Alpacha and Ebony as the only option.

I knowticed my seat did this too not long after I bought it. I was going to say something to the dealer when I took it in for the first service. Glad I'm not the only one with this problem.

Mine too. Gves the slightest of 'clicks' forward when braking hard. At first I thought it was the arm rest, but I think its the seat back. Its not the base.

Not enough to bother me, I've driven worse. I'll mention it at the first service. 58 HSE, auto, lago grey, tints. Mine and my dogs Storm and Sky

The LR2 is at the dealer now for it's first service and they ordered a part for the seat. I am hoping it will get done today. They gave us a Beige LR2 to drive while it's there. I miss my Black one. Laughing

The seat is the only thing I dislike about the Rover.

I also have a problem with my drivers seat but my movement is down rather than forward. I like to sit high up and adjusted the seat height accordingly in fact to the top however after a few hours it drops substantiially as if it sinks of its own accord this can take up to 7 or 8 pulls on the adjuster to get back to the top. It is due its first service this month so I will mention it, has anyone else had the same problem
