England 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Santorini Black

As promised, reporting back on my experiences

After exactly 12 weeks standing outside, unused and not on any trickle charge arrangement.

Car unlocked on the remote fob exactly as normal and then the engine started immediately on the first press of the button.

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

Mine definitely goes into hibernation after about 4 weeks. After this time period I need to open the vehicle with the emergency key in the LH door, and insert the fob into the dash, after which normal service is resumed. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 Dynamic Manual Santorini Black

I wonder if late FL2s behave differently to earlier models?

That said, the time seems to vary, it seemed that 2 weeks was the oft quoted time to trigger hibernation but seems that others experience different timescales - perhaps battery condition plays a role here that has not been considered? 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 Manual Dynamic

Thumbs Up
That's amazing but I know better than to test mine.

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Fuji White

This has been discussed before on the forum and other LR related forums.

It does seem that there are exceptions to the 30day rule.

I have tried looking for the answer but, as with lots of the LR2 control systems, the inputs to the Alarm Systems come from many modules, including Battery Management. All I can find are instructions on how to get into the FL2 and start it (with or without a flat battery.
