[Wanted] Spare wheel, tyre and jack pack

Evening all,
Iā€™m looking for a spare wheel with tyre for a 2015 manual FL2 SE Tec that has 19ā€ alloys. My experience of the spray in gloop stuf is not good so feel better if I had a wheel - be it a space saver or a 19ā€ alloy and tyre
Thanks
M.

if your on facebook there is a Freelander 2 group on there and a tyre dealer in Sheffield regularly posts adverts selling wheels and tyres. Hes called Lucas wheels IIRC
ive not had any dealing with him but his reputation seems to be really good. You may be able to get something through him.

Hi,

do you want a "Spare" wheel or does it have to match your existing to use in wheel rotation to even the wear over time (inc the spare wheel!)

if its just for a spare you could use a 17, 18 or 19 wheel depending what comes up at the right price/location

Thumbs Up .
my first ever FL2 and I did keep it longer than most other cars!
But its now gone way up Norf

I would NOT use another size spare. As while the rolling circumference may be the same, the aspect ratio of tyre wall to tyre width is not.

Spare wheel.

Thanks for the advice guys. I really want a 19" alloy and tyre to match the ones on the car however these seem to be unobtainable at reasonable money - I dont mind a scruffy one at the right money as I could get it refurbed. As regards a 'space saver' that would be ok to, but I worry about the different diameter wheel and its affect on the 4wd system. Also from what I have read the later cars (like mine) need a 19" alloy to clear the brake callipers. Is that true or am I worrying to much?
Thanks
M.

Spare wheel.

Yes I understand that. Its more about not being left stranded. I bent a wheel in a pothole on a car with only gloop in the boot and no amount of gloop was going to mend a 4" flat spot on the rim!

Hi, why not Question

if you are just wanting a spare to get you home or the nearest garage then the aspect ratio is pretty much irrelevant
it is as you said the circumference that matters
thats why manufacturers can use space savers as spares, they DONT match the aspect ratio they DO match the circumference

Spare wheel.

Thanks every one. Found a new space saver wheel with a new proper tyre on Facebook complete with original jack and wheelbrace. Now need to find the polystyrene round thing that goes inside the wheel to hold the jack etc.

There isn't an insert inside the wheel.
The jack and wheelbrace are secured to the car by a bolt that goes through the jack.
I'm on my fourth freelander 2 - they've all been the same.

Thats exactly what I am looking for! Got the Jack, the wheel brace and the wheel/tyre. Just need the Polystyrene 'holder and anything else that may be held in it. If I cant find one Ill make one out of several layers of sheet material with the spaces cut out. Rather get the right one though!

I'm also on the lookout for a spacesaver wheel, plus jack kit. My soon-to-be 2009 F2 has just the pump and gunge setup looking very forlorn in the space where the spare would normally be! Located near Littlehampton in Sussex.

Now sorted, thanks.
