Yes I’ve done the cable tie repair, seems ok for now, otherwise a fiver for the repair kit is reasonable.

Glove box damper.
I recently purchased a new one for £30 from ebay.
Had to come from Lithuania.
Worth a look though. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.

Mine doesn't seem to have a damper at all. It just flops open onto its stops. Where should the damper be located? Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

So they wrecked a £100 damper fitting a £30 filter - great Evil or Very Mad

Its not difficult getting the glove box out without breaking the damper- it just requires a modicum of thought. But I guess that's the problem. Jules

So, when I acquired my 2008 LR2, the damper was already broken. I replaced it in 2019 with a LR newer version that was grey and black. It was for a different model. The replacement however never retained the resistance of the original which was broken,, not connected, but still left in partial place. I would never buy another if this one breaks. The fix from P UK is a good addition but their shipping to Canada would make the LR version attractive Big Cry Razz

The Mondeo Mk 4 is close to the FL2 with a lot of parts

Mine is the grey and black one. Unfortunately the black top came away from the grey tube. They are dissimilar plastics and I couldn't get them to glue back together. In the end I used a glue gun to form a cap of glue all over the black top and part way down the sides of the grey tube. Looks a mess but works. Jules
