Had my FL2 2008 2.2 d for a week. Came over from N Wales to Whitby Yorkshire and got 44mpg combined. Around town and short journeys it does 38.4 mpg. This is on the vehicle computer so ????

In my experience, the on board computer is very optimistic, like over 10% optimistic.
Brim to brim as suggested is the only way to tell for sure. Thumbs Up 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Orkney Grey

35 mile run this morning quiet A and B roads, motorway and dual carriageway. Kept slightly below speed limits on each road.
Pretty happy with that. (Less happy that it took £115 to fill it yesterday!)

I’d have to say I find this truly astonishing. That’s almost as good as my 2.0 Jaguar XF which is svelte and altogether a more modern motor car than the FL2. My Td4 can just about manage the very low 30s if I really go carefully. Could it be that the Sd4 is better than the Td4? Or is there some magic trick? It’s not like you can adjust the carburettors. Very Happy

Mine is definitely better after a couple of 200 mile + trips at motorway speeds. It's more sprightly, and more economical too. Diesels soot up, so like to be driven nice and hard for a few hours, which helps clean out the accumulated soot from the combustion chambers and CAT. Thumbs Up 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

Trouble is, it would cost a blxxdy fortune to take the FL2 out for a 200 mile blast! Very Happy
