Had my 2009 XS TD4e since early February and have never had any trouble starting even when the temperature was just below zero.
I have not seen the glowplug light come on, i know the car decides if it needs the glowplugs to be on, but it seems odd to me that it does not do a bulb check with the others.
On my last FL1 the light would come on briefly as a check or stay on until the plugs had warmed up.
Will check fuse and relay but could i have a duff bulb?

I think I've only seen mine a couple of times, IIRC
when it's really frosty,
if the car is starting OK in cold weather, then there's no issue.
I expect one of our more knowledgeable members will be along soon

The glowplugs are activated much more often than you think as they are used to reduce emissions when the engine us still cold, under these circumstances the glowplug light is not illuminated.

And IIRC the glowplug light only illuminates when there is a delay in starting due to very cold ambient conditions - the preheating phase

mines a 2009,and ive never seen the glow plug light,but im in devon,and car stays in car port,so never gets too cold here.

Ours is a 2010 (59 plate) and I've never seen ours, even in sub zero temperatures over winter I never saw it. It got cold enough that we even failed to start the engine and still no light! A new battery sorted the starting but still no light!

I was thinking the same about a failed bulb or fuse, but it carried on starting fine after the new battery so I've left it. I do plan to change the glow plugs in the summer though.

I've seen mine a few times this winter just gone, but only when there was an obvious preheat phase before the engine starting cranking.
But mine is a button start not via a key - does that make a difference ? Jules

Ours is button start, still haven't ever seen the glow plug light, not had there ever been a noticeable delay between pressing the button and it starting.

Mine comes on in cold weather also if its really cold I press the start button without holding the clutch down the light comes on then when it goes out I press again to start so it get two lots of pre-heat do the same with Defenders though they will start without glow pugs even working. 2013 FL2 XS.

It won't be a bulb, as the Ipack uses LEDs soldered to the circuit board, and its not a fuse either.
It'll be because the ECM doesn't need you to wait to start it, so no glow light will come on.  Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

just a note,on really cold days my wife would insert fob and immediately start car,this gave a glow plug fault (without management light,i was running a diagnostic check for something else)so we now leave ignition on for 10 seconds before starting on frosty days,and fault code has not returned.

Outside on the drive all year. Open field to the right so when you get icy winds it really gets cold.
