Retrofit front parking sensors 2014MY

I've got a 2014 SE Tech which has rear parking sensors but not front ones. I was wondering how difficult it would be to fit the front ones, is it a case of all the wiring is there so just fit the sensors and enable the function in the software?

I think the front ones have a dashboard switch to manually enable/disable them but they also enable with reverse gear, I would be happy with just the reverse enable.

I can only find info relating to pre-facelift cars on here and as it's linked into the central display it might be different for 2012 models onwards. I apologise in advance if my searching has been rubbish and I have missed a really obvious thread on this.

I have the front ones, not really worth it. Practice your distance & you will do better than the safety margin the front sensors factor in. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

OK thanks for the advice. Because of the way the front of the car slopes out below the edge of the bonnet I find it difficult to judge how much space there really is. Have not hit anything yet...

Practice against a wall. Get out of the car & have a sticky beak, you will be surprised how much room you have. Repeat until you have a feel for it. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

If you have a problem with the FL2 with its relatively square profile you’ll have more of a problem with most more modern cars. You can at least see the end of the bonnet/hood and so have a reference point. Just about every other car or van I’ve driven recently have a bonnet/hood that curves downwards and are featureless so no reference points.

I think both front and rear sensors are very handy, especially if you want to park quickly and accurately. You are right in saying that later cars have an on screen display of sensor alerts, but the notes about the CCF need to be investigated. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
