Apparently painting calipers red can increase insurance premiums with some companies, classed as a performance modification as only high performance cars have red calipers my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Check with your insurance first. Green maybe cheaper. After 5 minutes they are covered in carbon anyway, so there is really no point unless you have onboard OCD cleaning setup! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

IIRC, this tended to apply to models where there is a higher performance version (think ££££) in the line up, a bit like putting M3/4 badges on a basic BMW, then wondering why some basket has been tempted to nick it. I don't believe it would be a problem with a Freelander. I would paint then red if that's your choice DAVE. I.A.M. F1rst Driver.
