It's only secured by a few bolts, but it's easier to remove if the rear bumper is off. The RH hanger for the rear box is in the same area too, but I can't remember if it's part of the hanger, or bolted onto the chassis rail separately.

 No need for primer with Hammerite on this surface. Just wire brush off and then 2 coats of hammerite. Far easier than removal. FL2 SD4 XS 2013 Orkney Grey | ||

 Maybe for OEM towbars but not for my Witter one. Didnt need to remove the bumper either. Jules | ||
