Loss of complete electrical power

I recently after a period of downtime stipuck on the drive, tried to start my 2014 sd4. After a few clicks nothing. Then suddenly lost all electrics in the car. Alarm, key fob, hazard lights, radio and all dash illumination gone!
The battery will need replacing as tested this and down to 5 volts. Is this the only problem I have. Surely something would work with this voltage. And changing the battery as easy as just swapping for a new one, connecting and starting or does the car need resetting professionally. Help would be appreciated. I am worried it’s more than just the battery

Pretty much sure a new battery will sort it these cars need a strong battery it cures many problems, the windows will need a reset and the clock will need putting right then you should be good to go. Windows press button to put it down keep holding the button until you hear a click press the button for up and again hold it until the click.

There is date stamp on the battery WWYY ie week 28 of year 17.

If you use the 'search' feature, battery subject has been flogged to death.

I stuck a new 85AH battery in, the largest that fits. Only the clock needed adjusting.

Get a good battery, Land Rovers have a stack of electrics. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

If the battery voltage drops below 8 Volts, the vehicle electronics assume the battery has been destroyed in an impact, so it uses the last of the power to pop the door locks, put the interior lights on, and flash the indicators, and probably put the word CRASH on the dash.

Fitting a replacement battery should solve the issue, but you might need to cycle the ignition a couple of times. Also an LR diagnostic device will be needed to remove the crash status from the various ECM memories. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

Chance to have a lot of communication error codes logged. Shouldn't stop the car working once a new battery is fitted but best to get them cleared. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.

This week our battery was flat. The other day I washed it and thought I would check the tyres pressure about as mechanical as I get. I looked in the hand book for correct pressure but left the glove box open and when I went to open the car this week the doors would not unlock. I put the battery on charge but only had a little motorbike trickle charger which still showed half full after 3 days so started it and took it for a run. All seems ok. Must need do anymore mechanical stuff, 😁
