Probably going to change rear pads soon.
For last 17 years on my Disco 1 and 2 i always used Mintex pads.
Will possibly buy Mintex again for the Freely2.
Just wondered what all you experts out there think? Jim A

What is the price difference between mintex and genuine?
Also is there any info on general wear rate compared to genuine?
For me tyres and brake pads are the only connection between me and the road and i would want pads that are designed for the vehicle.
Hence me asking if they have better performance in wear rate and also cost.

I personally like and use the Borg & Beck discs and pads. Excellent quality and much preferred over the OE LR parts too! 2014 Metropolis in Loire Blue

I used Britpart XS (OEM quality) discs and EBC pads - no issues. Jules

As above, im about to fit these borg and beck discs and pads to the rear of my freel 2.

The discs have a zinc aluminium coating, which means they dont go all rusty at the edges or the hubs. The pads are made from a decent material that both stops you, but also doesnt cover your wheels in brake dust too.

Finally, the pads even come with new bolts, grease and shims.

Mintex have been making brake linings since before Land Rover even existed. I used Mintex on my C70 T5 Volvo after Volvo stopped supplying the pads for the High Performance brake set I had on the car. Perfectly satisfactory I found.

Having moved from a BSA 650 Superrocket nearly 60 years ago I am quite a light braker . Every so often I give the brakes on the car a real good hammering just to stop glazing.

Hi there, discs are BBD5440 and pads are BBP1982

Embarrasingly i havent got around to fitting them yet! 2014 Metropolis in Loire Blue

OEM components are usually a compromise between function and cost because profit is in the total value of the vehicle.
Aftermarket parts can be specced for better performance at a higher price, or specced for a cheaper price.

I put REMSA pads (and discs, IIRC) on my Freeo a few years ago, been very satisfied with braking performance and wear.
