2016 metropolis on Autotrader

Having a nose on Autotrader as you do and I’ve seen this 2016 registered metropolis for sale. Registered in April 2016 so would be a 16 plate. Not sure I’ve ever seen a 16 plate one. They want top money for it though! Don’t think that’s depreciated much in 5 years! Interestingly the service print out is on one of the pics and it’s PDI was in 2014 so it sat around for a while. I’m not sure I’d advertise the fact it’s missed 2 services too!

SHB Hire on the service record?

Run away! Shocked Laughing

Original plate was OV16NKS - am I right in thinking OV is one of the JLR plates (Oxford)?

So PDI by Paragon in 2014, but then not registered until April 2016? Paragon Fleet are not going to sit on a car unused for 2 years, they would bounce that through the auctions if it was a cancelled order they couldn't place elsewhere.

I'm not sure why my sniff detector is going off, but something not quite right here. Current driveway contents:
2021 V60 Cross Country B5
2009 FL2 dog bus and shooting wagon

On Order: 2023 Fisker Ocean Ultra - deposit paid.

My Metropolis has an OV registration number - 64 plate in my case though.

my 63 Lux is OV registered as well, Oxford so i believe is ex LR management fleet

I looked at a D4 a couple of years near me, nice condition etc. up on miles but advert said FSH so i went to check it out. Turned out to be ex SHB so i ran away as fast as i could. Dealer was a bit clueless about it as most of the services were stamped by SHB themselves.

I remember going to visit Mike, the owner of SHB, back in 1993. I'd negotiated some financing for the business earlier in the year and we were now trying to persuade him to trial some LWB Ford Mavericks as a lower cost option to the Discos he was running as passenger vehicle at the time.

His response was long the lines of "if you want me to try them, you need to hand the keys over now and deal with what I hand back, whenever I choose to hand it back. If they're cheaper to buy, they're cheaper to make, and that means they're easier to break. So are you going to give me the keys?"

I didn't give him the keys Laughing

Very shrewd businessman; I have huge respect for him. Current driveway contents:

"O" with any other letter is an Oxford registered vehicle, many lease cars are registered there as well as LR, don't believe because it has an "O" plate it's ex LR some were registered to hire companies as courtesy cars for warranty/ LR assistance cars, though some may be genuine ex LR management supplied cars.
The fact it was a 2014 car unregistered does not mean it laid idle for two years, it may have been exported without registration or even used on a private estate, perhaps an MOT check way indicate its history. Though it does state it had 21 miles on the odometer at registration and registered as year of manufacture as 2016.
I believe there is a way of deleting the odometer reading as I came across a pre registered vehicle with 18 miles on the clock but the trip meter had over 300 miles my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
2012 HSE SD4 In Orkney Grey now gone, best car ever.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 i6 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey

On Fords/Jags/LR/Volvo back in the 90’s when digital IP first came in across the board it was possible to “reset” the odometer several times if the mileage showed less than (if I recall correctly) 30 miles, this was to enable driven deliveries to be “zeroed” before sale.
I think it could only be done five or six times I think.

But how long that was running for I don’t know. Regards

David

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......

No export marker on this one. Comes up clean on all counts. Paragon would have wanted to register the vehicle for it to qualify for their volume bonus payments, or it would have been "upside down" on their accounts so there has to be a compelling and financially sound reason for them to have not registered it.

Why...it is the end of new ICE car production not the end of existing cars!!
