Remote control

Hi all new to the freelander but I've owned discovery s for several years,I have just purchased a 13 plate freelander GS,only 1 remote,can anyone tell me where I can get a replacement and how much they cost?

The remotes need to be programmed to the vehicle. You can can get one at the dealer, in the US it costs about $350USD.

You can also buy after-market remotes ($30USD) and certain scantools (such as Autel AP200, $65USD) , and program the remote yourself. Read this thread in detail first...

The AP200 is a bit awkward to use, but does seem to work (did for me, with difficulty).

Look up one of the local Mobile Car Key Companies, Cost around £160.

There are fobs available for older years that use an easily replaceable 2032 battery rather than soldered in. I suggest you call around to find one of this type.

Maybe yours is of this type anyway
