Going uphill the other day, and trying to overtake a lorry, I found I had virtually no power and had to give up the overtake and pull back in behind. The car was still driving normally on the flat, with no warning lights on the dash, so I drove home some 200 miles before looking under the bonnet.

Sure enough, the top turbo hose (part no LR002589) had split from top to bottom.

I fitted this hose just 18 months ago, and have only done 5,000 miles on it, so I am not very impressed. Having said that, it was a cheap one from eBay so I shouldn't be surprised.

So the big question: where to get a replacement hose that will last longer than 5,000 miles? Are the silicone ones that are advertised any good, or should I just go for a genuine LR part?

Get a silicone one from somewhere like Bearmach or famous four John Craddock ect. 2013 FL2 XS.

I got a DPH Sport silicone one on ebay about 15000 miles ago. It still looks new.

I went down the silicon route, got mine from
a LR spares trader (can't remember which)
fitted like glove....I've read some of the cheaper ones don't! DAVE.

your right,i got mine from a silicone hose company 1st one too tight to fit easily,2nd one slightly too large diameter,but did tighten up ok.used them a few times now for different vehicles,good prices.

Had the same problem with the DPH ones, all fine apart from the one connection to the intercooler on the driver side. Eventually got it on using boiling water and silicon spray. Plus side was that I was able to get the plastic retain clip on and otherwise they are solid especially with mikalor clamps instead of jubilees following one of the vids on YouTube. Corrado VR6 Mystic Blue - Gone
