Similar prices? Personally I'd go for the newer one as I prefer the facelifted design of the dashboard, which the older one won't have. You can't tell from MOT/service history what work has been done on them unfortunately so your "clean" older one might have had repairs too...

I thought that the general advice on buying cars is to buy the youngest. When it comes to moving it on you can forget anything you have added or repairs done, it's all about mileage and age. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

The newer car is coming up to 9 yrs old thus both cars are not exactly new cars & both are at 100,000 miles so be prepared to start spending money on repairs.

Today I went to see 2 cars. Both MY13's and both under 90k miles (not either of the two discussed above, I'm going to see them on Tuesday).

Essentially, these were closer so prompted a last minute 140 mile round trip. Sadly both were absolute dogs of vehicles.

The first, a black HSE SD4. Didn't have a single straight panel, equally they were also scratched to hell. It also looks to have been in a rear shunt with some very shoddy repair up close.

The second, looked to have been in a front shunt, had glass particles in the headlights and was filthy inside.

In case anyone else is also looking at these, I would suggest avoid.

I had a look at Yate car sales Bristol web site he has a big stock of FL2’s over 30 😳 I did not realise the money FL2’s are going for 😳

A quick update.

I finally bought one after looking at quite a few duff cars.

A 2011 61 plate in Kosrae Green. Pretty imaculate paint work & panels (apart from the bootlip which seams to plaque everyone. Does anyone know a fix for this)?

It's off to have its windows tinted on Thursday (purely to hide away bits in the back and keep the sun off the dogs).

Since picking it up, I've done 250 miles and really enjoyed all of them.

Only other change will be tyres at some point. It has a reasonable amount of tread left, but they're quite noisy and not AT's.

I'll do a "My Car" post once the windows are done and it's had a wash (it's been really wet / dirty here the last few days).

Yes and changes to the dash are the easiest way of telling

Late 2012 have newer dash as well. Biggest benefit is the doing away with that useless green display. I could never tell the time on it. Shocked

Indeed… but cars built in late 2012 are Model Year 13 (MY13) cars. The 10th character of the VIN will be 'C' for MY12 and 'D' for MY13.
