Rog, I'm interested in the Lanoguard treatment,
was this a top up or first application? DAVE.

1st application as there was a fair bit of surface rust. He recommended doing it so I checked reviews on you tube and other places. Seems to rate quite quite highly

Took the throttle body out for a clean up and check the cogs. Cog teeth all hooked and on it’s way out, ordered metal replacements off eBay. Replaced the rubber feed pipe with a silicon one while I was at it. Corrado VR6 Mystic Blue - Gone

Replaced the rest of the inter cooler pipes and modded the throttle body with metal cogs (not the glue on type). Corrado VR6 Mystic Blue - Gone

Changed out brake fluid to Motul 5.1, lubed my blower motor again per @p_gill mod Smile, lubed wiper motor hinge points and put on my winter Hankook i-pike RW11 tyres. There was snow on the ground in a nearby town. Surprised

Took off the intake manifold, cleaned out years of sooty buildup and performed a swirlflapectomy.

New glow plugs (all completely dead on testing, looked to be originals).

Changed fuel/air filters.

Like a prat, managed to drop a torx bit down the Intercooler pipe so had to get under the car, unfasten the lower pipe to retrieve it Big Cry

Blanked Egr.

Put everything back together, Primed the fuel filter filter and she started on the button without so much as a cough Very Happy Took her out for a blast.. the difference is profound, I’m chuffed to bits!

Next up, fitting a second earth strap which should be arriving Thursday Thumbs Up

Australia

Took it to the local paintless dent repair place to see what damage the weekends hail had caused.

Would you believe $3000 with just a cursory glance!

No wonder so many perfectly good vehicles get written off.

Now I have to ponder the decision of claiming on my insurance v loss of value due to the hail damage.

As I managed to write off my wife’s MX-5 last month, it’s not something I’m looking forward to. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.
