EGR Pipe Removal

You guys have any tips on how to access the back lower flange bolt to remove the EGR pipe. I thought I could get to it from below but its blocked by an electrical connection which I can just about reach with my finger tips from underneath the car but Censored if I can release it. Sure there must be some 'trick' or technique' that you use?

I did it a few weeks back.

I had to remove some sort of part/bracket on the right hand side first - its a couple of inches in front of it on the right then:

From the top I used a very small ratchet with a 2 inch extension, bit holder and hex bit. FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

Remember that well, and the sodding electrical connector. I can't remember, but I think I put an allen key on it long ways in and then managed to get pliers or mole grips on it just and luckily it moved it enough. I never put the pipe back on, just bought another blanking plate and bolted that down.

Got a feeling I got it from underneath, removed the wheel arch cover maybe ?

I know that this is an old thread, but upon replacing my glowplugs today, I found that if the battery box is removed, the electrical connector obscuring the lower bolt on the egr pipe can be released with a long thin flat blade screwdriverand removed. Access to the bolt, in my case 10mm hex head ( I presume it has been off prior to my ownership and the allen key bolts lost and replaced ), was easy with a 3/8 drive socket on a couple of 6" extensions. No wobble joint needed. Hope this helps others.
