Yeah timbo, got all the covers off and looked at it. No missing teeth but definitely needing changed. Got a new timing belt kit and locking tool in the post as we speak. I'm presuming the timing has jumped cause its not even offering to start. Was no harm in trying everything else that's been suggested though. We'll besides the loss of hair with pulling it out 😂

Line the crank up on the marker and see if the cams are on the marks? Could easily be teeth missing you aren't seeing.

Yeah I had that idea too. I've got the timing lock tools coming so I'll get everything locked up properly and then there's no way it will be wrong if that makes sense. I'd be as well changing the belt and idlers/waterpump while I'm at the stage I'm at anyway. Everything is ordered so will be here in a day or two.

Is there a bleed screw somewhere? Everytime I go to try cranking the engine the lines to the hp pump just run with air. Second you stop pumping the primer pump it just runs the fuel back to the filter and the pipes fill with air. Double checked that the connections on the filter were on and tight, no sound of air in or out.

There is no bleed screw. You just pump the fuel around the system to expel the air into the fuel tank - you can hear the air bubbling in the tank to start with.

The fact you have air running back through the lines in the reverse direction is odd and makes me think there is a problem further up stream- at the HP fuel pump maybe.
Also Alex suggested a broken camshaft (the exhaust camshaft drives the HP fuel pump) and might also explain the lack of compression if exhaust valves are not seating correctly.

PS Have you got a decent workshop manual ?

You said that you disconnected the HPFP and have seen the camshaft.
Did you tried to turn the engine without the HPFP and see if the movement is correctly transmitted up until the end of the exhaust camshaft at the connection with the HPFP?
There were cases when the connection of the camshaft with the camshaft sprocket was fractured.

Also, in top of the HPFP is the low pressure pump which "lifts" the fuel from the tank.
The two pumps are interconnected with a small piece of metal which also can break, which will translate in no fuel in the system.

Hi all,

Yeah I had someone crank it as I was looking in at both camshaft ends. Both were turning as you'd expect. No broken bits. No visible ones anyway. Didn't take anything off or look at on the hp pump other than the bit that engages the camshaft. I'll look at these bits when I get back to it. Busy with work today

Hi Gents need some help with my 09 FR2.

I am not getting any injection pulse to the injectors at all, it is now driving me crazy but i am Censored for a challenge.

Ill try to keep it short for the onset.

NO Codes found under any scooping or scanning.

things tried to date.

Cam Sensor
Crank Sensor
Camshaft Ring
Timing belt change
Fuel Filter Change
Tank out checked tested all components all fine
Fuel rail Sensors
Fuel lines changed from filter ( both high and low Pressure)
HP Pump metering sensor
HP PUMP - I know had to try it.
Complete under bonnet wiring harness renewed
ECU renewed flashed and coded
BSM recoded
Key and docking station recoded
Uprated HT leads from battery to Starter- Alternator
All earthing points cleaned and tested.
Relays all checked

To give you some food for thought lads -

The engine cranks over there are NO CODES showing of dashboard prompts, fuel is flowing to the Injectors fine, the temp senors for fuel lines water are all talking.

I just cannot get the the injector to pulse up there is no power being delivered to them.

I have live tested the the system and all readings are acceptable, Having spent hours reading the forum prior to wading in with silly Q,s its time for heads to work together here please.

My rail pressure is 14500 on cranking with fuel being delivered from tank i can get that pressure up to 25000 by gravity feeding the fuel filter via an external fuel source. If i increase the the cranking amps to the starter i get the pressure to the rail up to 30,000 cranking only these figures are.

Now if i introduce a diesel mist into the intake pipes she fires up giving me readings on the rail up to 100,000 I can even get her to rev a little up to 1500rmp say...

Of course the engine is firing on the fuel I introduced not the injectors.

Even with the above done there is no pulse or power being triggered to my injectors NOTHING.

Hence why i changed ECU thing it had to be the Driver... only find it still gets no power... Ok change the loom.. still nothing ...

Throw your thoughts in the ring gents if you may.

Regards

Andrew

Head above parapet time

All I can suggest is you try another tested good Crank sensor and maybe check the wiring.

The crank sensor plug is known to suffer from spreading of the contacts, which prevents the crank sensor sending the timing signal.
Always start at the basic stuff first, and go from there. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate on order.
Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE.

Hi Nodge68

Ill start all over again an go step by step will also check the crank plugs and all others.

Just a thought is the voltage control reg linked to the injector pulse system at... my thought being maybe there is CANbus wiring fault giving false signals.

cheers
