2013 FL2 windscreen wiper fault conundrum! thoughts welome

Hi all, having had 5 good years with our 07 high mileage smoker, I wonder if you good people could help with this- intermittent wiper problem on 2013 FL2 TD4 Dynamic. Having searched high and low and got somewhere close, just thought I'd ask the forum.

Basically, front wipers and washers are working intrermittently. I'm thinking the issue could be related to a wiper motor blocking function which I've read about. Fuses, relays, stalk and bonnet sensor have been either checked or replaced.

Reasoning for focus on block function is that yesterday got in car, wipers worked, opened bonnet etc and then nothing. Wipers and washers not working again.

Thoughts welcome and thanks!

Is this something that would show a fault code ?

Faulty wiper stalk perhaps.

Thanks for your replies, yes to codes and stalk. I just think it’s a case of going back through fuses, relays, motor and then the wiring to the BCU, typically it’ll be something small I bet Evil or Very Mad

It’s in the drivers side bonnet latch. Wipers stoppers working again last week so disconnected plug again , removed latch, checked sensor switch, cleaned relay/ reseated it and they were back on again. Need to get a new latch and sensor- only £30 from LR and easy to fit.

Does this mean the car recognises when bonnet is open through bonnet catch switch, and turns wipers off?

Who'd have thought! Andy

Yes, clearly mine was the enhanced version though where the wipers cut out when the bonnet was both open and closed! Confused
