Door protective trim

Hello All,

I need a new OSR door as mine is badly creased. I would prefer to buy a second hand door in the correct colour, Orkney Grey. There is one currently on eBay but it is fitted with the protective trim strip, my car does not have this.

Can anyone advise how the trim is fixed to the door? Is it held by clips or adhesive?

Is the trim easily removable and if so will there be evidence on the door under the trim of the door having this trim removed?

Image attached of a FL2 with the trim, -it’s not my car unfortunately.

Bob, thanks for the information, do you know if they come off easily ie without damaging the paint or panel?

They should be removable with no paint damage. I'd use a hairdryer to heat them and soften the adhesive first and they should peel off cleanly. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

That’s good to know. I have spoken to guy selling the door on eBay and he says the door is unmarked and complete so I think I will order the door. It will cost about £150 delivered.

Hopefully fitting will be straight forward.
