CV joint replacement

Hi everyone.
I need your help for replacing the CV joint of the front axle shafts. Bow down
For a few weeks they have become noisy, especially with the wheels turned, I hear the classic TAC TAC TAC ...
I have read the technical manual and the Haynes manual, but it does not report anything on how the joint comes off the axle shaft and I would not want to make a disaster with a hammer!
There is a seeger?

Also I want to remove all the drive shaft, to work better on the bench and also replace the tripod cap.

Do you have any suggestions to remove the axle shaft from the gearbox?
Thank you very much and sorry for the many questions ...

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

These days, it's generally regarded as better to simply replace the whole shaft, rather than individual joints. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

Except like in the video, don’t empty a packet of grease into the CV boot, just cut the corner off and force it into the CV spline and empty the lot into the actual joint until it oozes out of the ball/cage.

Oh, he could do with a set of discs on that car too!

I know the OP is replacing the joint but if you are replacing just the boot, make sure you strip, clean and reassemble the joint. Here’s a video how to do that but they won’t be as free as this one - I usually use a screwdriver to tap the middle cage in just enough to remove the balls and I do it slightly different by removing the middle two pieces together and separating them when out. Check carefully the faces that the balls slide on and if there is any sign of pitted marking, it’s gonna click on lock when reassembled!

I have never taken the shaft and CV apart on a Freelander but on all the others I have done remove the boot, just slid it up the shaft. Clean out the grease and there should be a retaining clip on the shaft that will stop it coming out of the joint remove this and off comes the joint easy, yer sure
