Supply to brake controller

Looking at fitting a brake controller for the van and they recommend using a dedicated supply from the battery with a auto resetting CB
Which would be the best way to get through the firewall to the battery?

I've mounted the controller to a board to fit under the drivers seat and have the control knob in a container in the centre console
I want to remove when not in use

I also require a feed from the actual brake switch
How difficult is it to get to ? Shocked
Or can I just fit a relay to the brake circuit Wink

I've put cables through the firewall in a couple of locations -
a couple of cables

went alongside the bonnet release cable
one went through a hole I put through the firewall down behind the battery - it comes into the cabin just above the passenger side fusebox. MY11 SD4 SE Auto

I believe that Wonderdust and BossBob are referring to the fact that any wire in a vibration rich environment must be away from any solid edge or if close to one, properly protected.
Vibrations on a wire that's touching any kind of edge tend to encourage isolation grinding and later an exposed wire (positive) touching the chassis (negative) is a disaster waiting to happen.

Fair enough. Was going to run in twin core double insulated with grommet or glands
Electrician by trade so have some idea

Had a bit of a poke around trying to work out which way to go with wiring etc
Bit the bullet and got local Auto electrician to quote

$700

When do you start Rolling with laughter (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.
