Wales 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Firenze Red

LSD ? Have a totally different thing in my head with these letters Shocked but, firstly, what is it and secondly, why would you want to fit this to a vehicle that already has the capabilities?

surprised this thread is still alive.
...because our vehicles in fact don’t have a true mechanical lsd capability. The electronics are such that the wheels require significant spin before the torque is “allowed” to transfer to the opposite wheel.
The handling of my jags is significantly transformed positively. Ever so cleverly done and immediately evident on the very slippery road with the gradual transfer of power prior to the state of spin. Like some of you I concur that the electronic managed system does provide some value, especially for those with limited driving experience. For the rest of us, he jury is out. Guy Pensa
