Front springs

Driving to our vaccine jab the other day and a Big Bang from the offside front, still driving ok so had a look when we got there {only 500 yards] front offside spring at a funny angle so suspect it’s broken.Called my local garage who look after the car for me and he is fitting a new pair next week, drives fine but won’t be using it until it’s done.

Same here... Parts arrived, but not timing to replace yet. Drives fine meanwhile. Seems to be no worry...

You need to be careful. A friend of mine had a broken spring which eventually moved and punctured the front tyre whilst he was driving.

I have had springs brake twice in the last couple of years on newish cars, it's a problem that never existed years ago Rolling Eyes
Cheap brittle springs keep the bean counters happy I suppose.

Possibly caused by two groups of bean counters. The bean counters at JLR driving the cost of manufacturing down by reducing specifications verses the bean counters in local government saving money on road repairs.

Wrong
They use the tarmac that has been allocated to repair potholes to build humps in the road instead. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.

Seems to be common nowadays. Driven for 30 years and never had this happen, my wife's car has broken 2 springs, one front, one rear in the last year 🤔 Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
