Scotland 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Narvik Black
Blackberry Automatic connection

My new job has given me a Blackberry Curve 8310. It connects fine manually and keeps the connection.

however, when I switch off the engine, go away and comeback it will not connect automatically when I restart the engine.

My previous mobiles all have.

Is there a trick to get this auto connect?

Many thanks 07 RRS Java Black

Can't you just live in the motor and never switch off your engine?

Not trying to teach my grandmother etc.... but

Have you remembered to set your Curve to "trust" your car system It'll be in bluetooth settings somewhere.

My Blackberry connects every time.

I have just upgraded from a Blackberry pearl which works perfectly with my car to a Curve 8900 which i cant even get the car to find. When trying the other way the phone finds the car but cant get them to connect. I tried the bluetooth connection routine as mentioned in this thread but there was a message on the phone that said it wasn't compatable with this phone.

Has anyone else managed to get this phone to connect.

Hi Another One

The 8900 should pair up, but you'll need to piut the phone in listen mode (somewhere in the bluetooth pairing settings, I can check when I get to work). Then pair from the car, this should then find the phone. The listen mode seems to replace the Bluetooth Pairing App that the pearls and curves use.

The only problem you'll find is that you will have lost the names in your phone book, you will just have a series of numbers. You can use voice dialling, but other then that you'll need to remember the numbers.

I'm trying to get our phone providor to get the problem registered with RIM, so hopefully they'll fix it.

Thanks Rich

I still couldn't get the car to find the phone but managed to get the phone to find the car and used the passcode 2121 and it is now connected. As you say the phonebook only imports numbers which is a bit useless. I will revert back to may pearl until a fix is found.
